South of the Border Volleyball Vacations

In January 2013, 8 of us from Santa Cruz traveled to Ixtapa, a tourist town with a perfect VB beach on on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.

None of the original 8 could return to Ixtapa in 2014, but 11 new Santa Cruzers made the trip. And we branched out: over a dozen of us chose either Puerto Vallarta or the first-ever SOB volleyball vacation in Cabo. Totally awesome once again! The picture below came from the Cabo trip in 2015, which will undoubtedly be followed by many more.

At the 2015 charity auction in Cabo, Frank Amirro placed the high bid (with a little help from his friends) to get this picture of 11 players representing Santa Cruz and 8 from the AVP: Evan Engle, Christal Engle, Tealle Hunkus, Derek Olson, Ty Tramblie Allison McColloch, Emily Stockman, and Billy Allen. Santa Cruzer or pro? Hard to tell. At least off the court.
